Project Choices
 
 
PLUSH “Ugly” Dolls/Pet Monsters 
Led by Mrs. Denison /Ms. Rebekka
 
Focus: creating a 3-D soft sculpture using appropriated materials

1.     Sketch (thumbnails) a general idea
2.     Gather materials – may store in brown paper bag with name
3.   Think about Elements/Principles for a cohesive design:
Elemens- line, shape, form, color/value, space, texture
Principles- Unity/Harmony, Balance, Scale, Emphasis, contrast

*I PAD app, “O Snap” or “lapse it” to document process
 
 


Painting from Photo Reference 
 
Led by Ms. Jen / Mrs. Atkins
 
Focus: Creating a monochromatic painting from a photograph.
1.     Photographic Reference – Selfies or otherwise (no plagiarism)
2.     Think about Elements/Principles for a cohesive design:
              Elements - line, shape, form, color/value, space, texture
              Principles - Unity/Harmony, Balance, Scale, Emphasis, contrast
3.     Edit Photo, Use I pads to add filter /separate values into shapes, Print
4.     Grid or Project Image onto Canvas Paper or Tyvek for large pieces
5.     Paint- make value scale
6.     Paint- fill in shapes with appropriate values

STOP! Collaborate, and Mix It Up: Mixed media collaboration
Led by Ms. Rebekka / Ms. Jen
 
 
This will be a jump on/ jump off project for students who cannot commit to   
Art Club every week.  This project will also be available to those students who
finish early or abandon a project.  Each week another element / process will
be added to the piece.
 
Week 1.  Shadow Tracings- Sharpie and Tyvek, overhead projector and
objects
 
Week 2.  Ms. Rebekka’s Choice
 
Week 3-4 Wrap Up

Independent Study: Must get permission. 
For students with a very specific project in mind who can stay focused and follow through. 
Ie. Portfolio Prep, Club documentarian (blogger/ photographer) etc…
